Garmin 19.18 software update

Hi Guys,

My 965 is not showing heart rate after I updated it ..it's been about 3 or 4 hours... does anyone have any clue what I should do? I tried restarting already

  • Did you do a regular restart or a hard reset? The latter helps sometimes. Just hold the light button until it reboots (about 15 seconds or so).

  • Did you check the WHR FW numbers under the settings/ about (its about  page 7 of teh set of info) ? is it 16.01.02, or the dreaded 0.0.0?

If the latter you need to contact support

  • I'm facing similar issues with 265s. Either it is not detected or when I ran last evening, it kept showing irregularly low (110-120) HR for my Base runs of 170 HR. Last night my sleep was also not detected at all!

  • If you are seeing no heart rate data at all, try these steps:

    1. Long hold the middle left button
    2. Scroll down to Health & Wellness > Wrist Heart Rate. Disable the Status and press the top right button to confirm.
    3. Force the watch off by holding down the upper left button. Let go when the screen goes blank (keep it held down through the "Release for assistance" message)
    4. After a few moments, power the watch back on. Let go of the upper left button when the blue triangle appears
    5. The heart rate sensor should be set back to Auto (you can double check in settings)
    6. If it's not already on, put the watch on your wrist and give it a few moments. Check to see if the green lights are on and if you are receiving HR data

If the above steps don't work, check your WHR version like S.M.R. mentioned. If the WHR version shows 0.00, try checking for updates with Garmin Express if you're able to use a computer. Even if it says you're up to date, safely eject and see if the watch shows any updates available for download on the watch. If nothing is updated, please contact Garmin Product Support directly.

If you are experiencing gaps or inaccurate heart rate data, please see Garmin Watch Optical Heart Rate Accuracy Tips. Contact Product Support directly if guidance from the FAQ does not help.

  • I had the same issue immediately after update to v19.18.

    's solution worked for me.

I'm really curious how this was not picked up in beta, or perhaps (and hopefully) it was just myself and @8384524 being unlucky.

I encourage other users who had the issue to also raise a hand here.

  • I have a similar issue. I'm on 19.18 for several days already but this morning I woke up and there was NO sleep data available. First thing I restarted the watch and afterwards I could also see the bpm back.

This all started from yesterday after my swim (with HRM-swim):

And continuous this morning till the restart was happened:

  •  I had the same issue today and again after a swim activity (this time open water), watch wouldn't find any hear rate.

  • I'm very sorry to hear that. Please try my steps listed above and check your WHR version. If the steps do not work, please contact your local Product Support center.

  • your steps are helping, but I want to mention that I need to do it after every swim. So it would be good to fix this issue asap.

  •  admin, after the 19.18 update i have 2 issues.

    1. My forerunner 265 feels sluggish. It takes more time to get GPS signal. While running, the pace changes have more delays.
    2. Before the update, my 3rd party HRM works perfectly well. It syncs my HR almost instantly with my watch and gets HR updates almost by the second. Now, after the update, it feels really sluggish and delayed. During runs with the HRM, it now takes about 10-15 seconds before the accurate HR data reflects on my watch. Before the update it was working good.
    3. Today on my run, i ran 7km (using a training plan by a 3rd party coaching app integrated to garmin connect) and upon finishing the run, it logged another km (now total 8km) and reflected wrong lap times to adjust for the magical “1km”. 1st time i encountered this issue.

hope you can suggest a fix for this. Thank you.
