Rapid battery draining issues since 18.27 update [FR965]

I have f965, I updated it to the new version 18.27. I turned off Pulse Ox and turned off allway display. I fully charged the battery last night and this morning it was at 58%. Does anyone have the same error?

  • I had a similar issue, and it was weird. I had changed an option on the watch, set the default setting for GPS to "auto select" I mean it was already set to that in the running options, but I decided to change the general setting...Bad idea my battery tanked, losing a percent an hour. I fixed it by setting it back to "GPS Only"

I am not worried about changing any setting in case it does it again.

I don't want to factory reset the watch as we still don't have a back up and restore option on the 965...

  • Humm. I tried the settings as you suggested but the battery still drains quickly. Thank you for your suggestion

  • I have this same issue with my FR955

I havent changed a single setting and since the last update I’ve gone from charging once a week to losing at least 30% daily.  Same usage pattern and settings.

  • If you do a factory reset, it usually fixes the issue. Garmin watches seem to occasionally have issues with battery drain after an update. I've had it a couple of times since joining the beta updates. It's just frustrating to have to redo all your settings again.

  • I'm having the same issue with huge battery drain..I'm using an FR265.

My battery has gone from 100% to 79% in 9hrs, over half of which had been spent sleeping. Currently showing 46% use per day!

Any way to roll back the update?

  • No. can't downgrade version....

  • Not ideal - so how do we go about solving or dealing with this battery drain issue? It's 100% not something that I've tweaked or changed, as my watch has remained unchanged for months now in terms of settings, setup and config. I'm down to 68% in 15hours! It seems to be getting worse. My battery drain is coming in at 46% per day... this is ridiculous

  • I did a factory reset issue comes back after some time, stop with this thing factory reset, we did not buy a premium watch to factory reset all the time right ?

  • you're lucky. I have factory reset the settings. even master reset but still no change
