I recorded a MTB activity on my watch, but it didn't make a .fit file

After I recorded a MTB activity on my watch, I noticed that it didn't upload to Garmin Connect.  After a Google search, I plugged it into my computer to manually upload the .fit file, but there is no .fit file for my activity from today in the \GARMIIN\ACTIVITY folder.  I can see the activity in the list of recent activities on my watch, load it and look at stats, including speed/heart rate/elevation graphs, etc.  However, incidentally, I cannot see the map.  Is there any way to fix this and get the .fit file?

  • I have had exactly the same problem today: I recorded an MTB activity, I can see it on my watch, but there is not fit file (so obviously it cannot be synced nor manually imported)...

Never happened before, I've installed all updates since I own the watch (September '23)

Anyone from Garmin on this ?

  • I had a similar experience today at a competition. Did you manage to find a solution to your problem?

  • I was able to locate the file when I connected the Garmin device to my PC. The file is located in the temporary directory for activities. Look for the date in the format of YYYY-MM-DD using the file explorer on your PC. After locating the file, you can import it using the browser connect application.

  • Thanks so much, I found it in GARMIN\TempFIT
I had to use the ActivityRepairTool from Garmin SDK because the file was corrupt, then I could upload it

  • I had similar experience today with Descent MK3i. Swimrun and can see it in the watch, but does not sync with GCM or Wifi sync in the watch... And found the file from TempFIT, and it was uploaded just nice to GCW.

Never seen anything similar before in the years using Garmin.
