Firmware 18.27 Cannot unlock maps

I'm also having issues with maps.

I started off with "Map Sync Error".  (I saw a request to contact if this issue came back, so here I am :) )

I removed (only) the files like D123456.img, and synced all maps back from Windows Garmin Express.

Now maps all say "Update available", which is wrong (they're fresh version 2024.10).

If I try to install a new map from the watch, it is always in Queued state, it will sync but never complete.

2. If necessary, may we have permission to reach you via email?
3. If necessary, may we have permission to view your Connect account?
4. Have you tried the troubleshooting steps listed in "Cannot Authenticate Maps" Error Message on a Compatible Garmin Watch? Did it make a difference?

Today I updated to firmware version 19.18 via Wi-Fi
I then tried to reinstall the map via Garmin Express but unfortunately did not solve the problem .
Reinstalled map TopoActive 2024
Garmin Express version 7.21.00

I also own a GPSMAP 66sr, where the maps have been correctly updated except for the South America map which I am unable to update.

Brand new forerunner 956, Garmin express 7.22.00, watch firmware 19.18.

have installed all maps using Express. either one by one or all at once

have deleted TopoActive  Europe from watch and installed it again from the watch (took some time!)

No luck, still gets the "cannot unlock map" error... :(

I've had my Forerunner 965 since last year, but had never bothered with the Garmin Express program until today.  Wish I hadn't.  Getting the "Cannot Unlock Maps" error message now.  Can't do the fix I've found because, even after cleaning the pins, the watch refuses to connect to my computer.  Garmin Express is pretty flippin' useless when it won't recognize your watch.  Really frustrating.

I am the one posting above (8m ago now)

I still get the message every time I install an update / restart the watch. What have I done? Ignored it and focused on training :) 

It is annoying in the way I am reminded that something is not perfect, but it does not affect how I use the watch in any way.
