maritime GPX.

Hi

I paddle and row at sea with my Garmin 965.
I would like to know if it is possible to make a GPX track (maritime GPX waypoint) and then follow it?
If so, what tool do you use to create the trace?
Thanks

  • I am not sure how courses will load for paddling type activities on the watch.  If you have a route will it show up as an option?  Might need to record the activity as a run/hike/etc to have maps load that are marked as 'run' or 'other' activity Course.  You can make any route by freehand drawing on Garmin Connect - just select type 'Other' for activity maybe?  Since only run/bike/hike/'other' are options.

    connect.garmin.com/.../create

Change the routing type to 'Freehand' - can do the same on Strava (manual draw).  Allows you to place waypoints over water or wherever.
