Navigation Turn Audio Prompt - how disable

Today I ran one of my courses and there was audio for the turns coming from the connected phone.

Never had this happen before.

Where do I turn this off? All the Audio Prompts are off in Settings > Audio Prompts.

YEs I concur , thats exactly when it started for me.

I spoke to support and got this:

Open the Garmin app, tap More > Garmin Devices.

Select your device

Then tap Navigation > Alerts > Turn Prompt…

Sure,

Audio Prompts => Pace/Speed Alerts => PacePro Alerts

(Note this is on FR955, I assume FR965 is the same)

Obviously it's a bug not to be abel to turn it off but excited they've added this. Previously it was only available no the bike computers

On 945 I was able to turn the sound off per activity. I mean no sound on yoga automatically, it is relaxing exercise, but now with 965 I am not able to. Just to turn off the sound at all for all activities. It is a bit irritating to run the yoga and then search for settings and disabling sound. And enable in the end.

That would be nice! Its still the same on Beta 20.15. Reported there also again!

Just to let you know other watches are also concerned. PacePro and Course Nav related audio prompts cannot be disabled on my Enduro 2 either.

I surmise that this bug cannot be fixed via watch softwares, I guess the bug comes from GC app itself. The reason why I think so is that the bug appeared in the same period for many different watches which have totally different softwares. Even those are impacted which gets sw updates no longer.

I doubt it is gc app related since both Android and iOs version suffer from this annoyance.

And I really doubt it is a bug. I strongly believe it is on purpose because garmin wants to movie to voice operated devices.

We can complain all we want, garmin is just ignoring its users. Probably marketing wants this feature because the other brands don’t do voice.

You can, but let me highlight that there are some sub-settings (option) of audio prompts, but no pacepro or (course) nav related.

As I got familiar with Garmin they often simply forget to add some options. Maybe they thought that the “activity alerts” option will control these audio alerts also

Might be.

But in the end, the situation now is annoying like ***. And garmin is doing nothing about it.

I fully agree. Months of waiting for eliminiating a bug and/or annoyance means not mucch for Garmin.

I hope Karma exists.
