Navigation Turn Audio Prompt - how disable

Today I ran one of my courses and there was audio for the turns coming from the connected phone.

Never had this happen before.

Where do I turn this off? All the Audio Prompts are off in Settings > Audio Prompts.

YEs I concur , thats exactly when it started for me.

I spoke to support and got this:

Open the Garmin app, tap More > Garmin Devices.

Select your device

Then tap Navigation > Alerts > Turn Prompt…

Sure,

Audio Prompts => Pace/Speed Alerts => PacePro Alerts

(Note this is on FR955, I assume FR965 is the same)

Obviously it's a bug not to be abel to turn it off but excited they've added this. Previously it was only available no the bike computers

You need to disable this on the phone in the Connect app in the device settings.

Where exactly? At least my Forerunner 955 (not 965) seems to have no option for navigational audio prompts. I have switched off all audio prompt options I could find - but I am still getting the navigational prompts ("approaching point …").

It started with the 19.09 beta firmware update. Before that, there were no such prompts.

Turn that off.

I tried it and it stopped the voice , I still got the turn notification on the watch face.

It’s a bit contraindicational where the toggle is , one would think it would show it means the audio and not just the directions on the watch itself.

Im sure its a bug , I did report it under the beta also

I agree this smells like a bug. Similarly, when PacePro is set up there are continual audio prompts via connected phone.

I think it should be the Settings -> Audio Prompts menu that should be controlling all these. But despite these all being disabled I still get pestered with alerts.

I am confused? You turn off the Navigation > Alerts > Turn Prompts.... and you still get alerts? I was just on a run this weekend on some MTB trails with headphones connected, trails that were super curvey... got annoyed with turn alerts, was able to quickly find the alert setting in navigation... turn it off for that section of trail. When on normal trail again, was able to quickly enable the turn by turn. Seems pretty straightforward, similar to what was on the 945 iirc.

Wow, that is interesting.

On my device, this setting has been off all the time, and I still get the voice prompts when approaching and passing a course point.

haha wow indeed!

would toggle it back on... power off.... power on.... turn setting off.

then maybe do a hard restart (35seconds uper left button)

Would be interesting to know what firmware you're on? I'm on Beta FW 19.09. If SMR and ultra_runner are also on Beta and NickMN is on 18.xx this would strongly point to it being a new bug in latest beta.
