Bug? Abnormal battery drain after using timer

I want to report that everytime I use the timer (i.e for cooking pasta Smile) the battery got drained much faster then normal, until I do a turn off-on of the watch, then it return to normal consumption.

I use one-time timer (no automatic repeating) and when it ends I go back to main watch screen using right bottom button: after that, the battery drains much faster than normal, until I do a reset (turn off-on) of the watch.
I think to do the right action to exit from the timer app, so I think this could be a bug in the software, that keeps the timer in a sort of "active" status, draining battery.
Anyone else has experienced the same problem?

  • Uh, this would explain why my battery usage differs so extremely even when i am not doing any training sessions for a longer time.

  • The Timer and Battery issues has been talked about on here for years on various models of watches that I have had.  I would find it hard that by now they haven't corrected the bug that kept it likely running in the background after it is done/closed.   Assuming you have done some tests deliberately to trigger the issue?    I have never used the Timer feature personally.

  • Imagine buying a 650€ watch and the Timer. A Timer ON A WATCH! Brings the watch inside a buggy state and does battery drain.

How can they sell a watch where the timer is not even working properly.

  • Yes, I had the problem many times, I did one last test to have the picture to certify the issue, I hope Garmin will solve this annoying bug.

By the way now I downloaded another timer app, and I'm using that one instead of Garmin one Sweat smile
