Hill Score incorrect elevation gain

Hi! Yesterday, I selected Trail Run and completed hill repetitions on a quite steep hill (21 reps, with over 600 meters of elevation gain). However, it didn't update the 4-week elevation gain displayed on the Hill Score (which remains at only 262 meters), nor its value (45, challenger). Not for the first time - elevation gain from hill sprints on a steep terrain (ca. 180 m in elevation gain) wasn't included in 4-weeks elev.gain either, on the other hand, some other hill repetition workout affected this value - all were recorded by using Trail Run app. Is it just my impression that the Hill Score feature needs improvement? Or perhaps should I record such training sessions as Running instead of Trail Run? Has anyone else encountered this issue with the Hill Score?

  • I'm having the same issue on epix pro. Moreover, the elevation gain is very low when compared to 'correct elevation' feature in Garmin Connect Web which corrects elevation based on DEM. So the hill score is currently useless in such a scenario.

  • Same problem! In my case it looks like the 4-weeks elevation gain is completely disregarding the elevation gain of some activities as backcountry ski

  • But the elevation in the recorded activity looks ok?

I noticed (even reported to Garmin a few months ago) that on some of my walks and runs (all in my neighborhood in the same place where I have many other activities with correct elevation) the elevation graph is flat.
