HRM accuracy - sharp jumps in readings

I just don't trust the accuracy of the optical HRM. I'm seeing sharp uplift in readings on most runs. I know this has been a topic discussed already, but are there any updates?

yes and no. there were updates targeting this, garmin is claiming to work on this, still no resolution yet.

also, it affects all garmin watches with all sensor generations, if that makes you happier a bit ;)
