  • Same for me - I wonder if there’s a current issue maybe from a recent update?

  • Upon re installing Spotify I put a review and all the reviews the last few days are filled with the same issue, so it’s a Spotify issue more than a garmin one by the looks of it

  • Interesting - did it fix it?

  • Same issue for me. Updated Garmin app, Spotify app and reinstalled Spotify on my forerunner. Still receiving the error when I try and add a podcast

  • Thank you for posting this - I thought I was going crazy! Same issue for me, on Forerunner 955. Only happens with podcasts and only since yesterday. I'm going to assume it's been broken in an update and hope for a fix.

As a workaround you can add podcasts to a playlist (in Spotify phone app or web browser) then sync the playlist to the watch. But the downside is this treats the podcast like music - gives a skip track button instead of skip 15s, and doesn't pause for watch announcements. Very annoying!

  • We have an open ticket for the media error that you are receiving when using Spotify. You will want to update the Spotify app through the ConnectIQ store to alleviate this disruption.
  • Noting that I’ve been experiencing this issue on my Garmin 945 for several days. I believe it may be connected to a recent update. Hoping Garmin and/or Spotify can resolve, very frustrating as I’m rounding out my Boston training and use podcasts to survive many of my training runs.

  • Did you update your Spotify app through Connect IQ?

    1. Open the Connect IQ Store app.

    2. Select My Device (bottom right).

    3. Select Updates.

    4. Select Update All.

NOTE: If you are using an Android phone you will be able to update individual apps if you prefer.

If the device selected is not the one you would like to update then you will need to change the device.

    1. Select My Device (bottom right).

    2. Select   (top right).

    3. Select Select a Device.

    4. Select the device you wish to update.

  • Has anyone gotten a resolution for this issue yet?  I am having the same problem.

  • I believe the latest app update to version 5 has fixed this issue. I cannot confirm, as I do not use Spotify.
