manually exiting sleep mode no longer sticks

I have my sleep schedule set to end at 9am for the few days I actually get to sleep in, but usually I'm up well before that and I manually disable sleep mode via the quick toggle. for the last week or two (probably coinciding with 18.22) the watch will re-enter sleep mode a few minutes later. if I manually exit again it just re-enables a few minutes later, so I am unable to make the setting stick until 9am hits. the problem has now persisted into 18.23.

on a similar note, is there any way to disable sleep schedule? I remember it asks about it during watch setup, but I can only find a way to edit the times, nod disable the schedule altogether.

  • I have the same issue. Sometimes the morning report is not triggered at all when waking up too early, and the watch re-enters the sleep mode after I manually turn this mode off. It shouldn't be considered as a nap as I actively move during this.

  • Same here. Has this been filed as a bug by someone already?

And is there any way to disable nap detection? It should not trigger though, because when sleep mode activates, I'm active (moving, working etc.).

  • It’s been reported and garmin is aware of it.

But I have a strong suspicion, garmin doesn’t allow it’s developers to work on bug fixing (probably to save costs) and support only points users who report a bug to the manual or suggest a reset.

Only when the watch crashes, and a lot of people are bothered by it and it is easy to reproduce, garmin might look into it.

  • Had it again this morning. Manually exiting the mode repeatedly didn't work but what seemed to have was when not in Sleep mode, swiping down to the different glances and picking one of them asked me if I wanted to exit sleep mode, which of course I already appeared to be, seemed to exit it permanently.

  • Same issue here.

Keeps going back to sleep mode if disable sleep (from control wheel) whilst within the sleep schedule range.

    Seems counter intuitive.

If go to sleep widget and end sleep then it seems to stick

  • I have found that if one goes to the sleep widget and "end sleep" it does so and triggers the morning report

Doing it in the control wheel seems to have a different result.

  • I have the same issue with 18.27. I have my watch only 1 week. Any update from Garmin?

  • This bug is still present on the recent version 19.18 release.  On the past two weekends I've had to wake up quite early for races, and manually deactivated sleep mode.  Some time later, when I check my watch, sleep mode has reactivated...over and over again.

  • How did you deactivate the sleep mode , on the control wheel?

As I noted above I have found that if one goes to the sleep widget and "end sleep" it does so and triggers the morning report
