Reporting an issue a friend experienced while navigating a course:
I like to make routes on strava rather than just hoping the watch picks something. And I made a route the other day that had a section where I double back. I tried it both using the “follow map” and the “follow course” settings.
Follow course worked okay but when I hit the double back situation it never told me to turn around.
The follow map was way worse in that it thought I was off course and then tried to navigate me back to the start instead of back to the course. So I ran back to a clearer part of the course, stopped navigating, restarted the route navigation but it couldn’t handle that I was in the middle and immediately started rerouting me back to the start.
Also neither option would give me street names in the turn by turn directions. It just said gave an arrow and a distance (maybe that’s the intended functionality?)
Why would course navigation not be able to guide me on an out-and-back? And should I be able to get street names for turns in course navigation?
