Swimming issues

Hi all,

just came from a FR945 and it worked great in the pool. The new 965 is almost useless
I don't know if it's a warranty issue with the accelerometer or just really bad software.
First the screen keeps scrolling randomly when there is no option to turn it off
Freestyle always worked great with a really few misses in the 945, in the 965 it's all over the place, it doesn't count pools or it counts too many, I swam 200m without it counting one single pool. Even a bigger problem is breaststroke, during 50m it counted 250m.
I ended the pool session with a lot of records and without really knowing what I really swam...

Is this a warranty issue, anybody else having the same issues?

Regarding screen, you can disable Touch Screen, globally during activity or by activity.

it's disabled, I forgot to mention that it is disabled for all activities.

I've been using my 965 for pool swimming and whilst its not perfect I don't have the large issues you mention.

I may be one/ two lengths off over 40 but nowhere the variance you record.

Strokes - Breaststroke is ok , Freestyle, largely OK, backstroke was an issue so I had to work on my stroke to get it recognised better.

I haven't had the screen issue you mention either.

If its not seeing lengths, then you need to be more deliberate with the push off after turning and see if that helps.

I'd also suggest you speak to support , they were helpful in my situation.

Maybe consider resetting the Pool Swim activity and also soft reset the watch. Then reset the pool length etc to the ones you require.

I swim 2x times a week with the 965 and don't have any issue. Sometimes it's 25m off in 2k but really rare.
Screen is not scrolling maybe you touch it with the wrist, is it possible? Just guessing, because you turned touch screen off.

Even if I do 100m medley swimming no issues.

I agree with S.M.R. try to reset it. Maybe the easiest way is just to hold light until watch is off. Then start it again.

Exactly, that’s the behavior I got from 945.

When I stopped, the watch kept scrolling, I saw it without touching any buttons…

Do you use maybe a protective foil on the glass?

Yes I do, but the touch is disable, I wouldn’t think it would interfere

News on this one,

I was suspicious of the "Auto Rest" option, which came turned on by default, I swam today with it turned off, result:

- The screen didn't scroll, not even 1 time.

- The counting was perfect, 2000m between swimming freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke, 0 errors

I also use 965, previously 945. And found you can not set up activities separately. All activities "display always on", but not set up per application and have it different. For example running - display on, for yoga - display off. This is something, what worked previously. Similar with sound. To me it seems like 965 firmware has not been tested properly and I am surprised for so many positive opinions on this watch.
