Cannot get watch to pair with my iPhone 15 Pro Max

For a couple of weeks now my watch hasn't connected to my iPhone. A few days ago I managed to get it to connect following the troubleshooting steps, but then after a half hour or hour while I was updating which information I wanted tracked and available to view on my watch, it disconnected again and so far none of the steps I've followed has been able to reconnect the watch. I've even reset the watch completely and signed out and deleted Garmin connect.

Very frustrating with two very expensive gadgets not working together. My Bluetooth works fine and as expected with my Bluetooth earbuds and my car. So can't be fully on my phone.

  • Hello, also but with Android and Samsung phone.

  • I'm currently working with Garmin support to fix this issue.

It got to the point where my watch wouldn't connect at all, even during set up.

They released a new update via Garmin Express that I downloaded and it fixed the initial connectivity issue.

However, I went to bed last night and woke up this morning to my watch no longer being connected, despite the watch saying it is connected. My phone says that it is not connected in Bluetooth settings and Connect app.

I sent support video and pictures so they can hopefully fix the issue permanently.

  • Hello, in my case I have updated to SFW 18.23 on the watch and App with 4.76 but this afternoon it still creates conflicts with the Synchronization. The connection continues to be lost by App Connect and the watch still tells me WAITING FOR PHONE CONNECTION

  • You probably have tried this already but I find turning the phone off and on again works.  Or do a force restart that can sometimes help.

What I do know is that errors like this always seem to be on apples end.

  • I have the same issue since a couple of weeks. cant connect to phone or airpods. Nothing works, its so annoying for a 600 euro watch -.-

  • Have you tried a soft reset of the watch.  Hold the power button for 15 seconds.

As above, these issues tend to be on apples side. Do you have anything non Apple that does connect.  Or does nothing work?

  • Hello Bigdwazda, in my case I use Android 12 and Samsung at 42 with the same result of inability to connect continuously. Something changed when updating the App Connect to 4.76 or the SFW from Fr 965 to 18.....

By the way I have tried EVERYTHING!!! I am going to use the Garmin WARRANTY service with direct product support, the connections and their losses are not normal

  • That’s not ideal at at all.

  • nah that doesnt work neither. I have tried all the normal fixes like restarting, resetting reinstalling the app etc. nothing works. Today I Updated to 18.23 with big hopes but that didnt help. Thanks though!

  • One entrie from the changelog of 18.xx

    "Improved headset compatibility."

My bet is that this change made bluetooth a lot worse.
