Swimming activity heart rate data mismatch between watch and Connect when using HRM-Swim

When using the HRM-Swim to track my swimming pool activity heart rate, I get a mismatch of heart rate data after finishing and saving my activity:

  • Connect (app and in-browser) show the HRM-Swim heart rate (consistent, more steady-state values, matching my perceived exertion)
  • The watch, on the other hand, (probably) shows the wrist LED sensor heart rate data (noisy, very low values, unmatching my perceived exertion)

This issue persists after watch restarting, or any other operation. Using v18.20 on the watch.

This is obviously a bug. Is this under Garmin's radar (issues backlog)? Estimated date when this will be fixed?
