theoretical MaxHR recommendation is lower than the measured maxHR with accurate HR belt

Dear FirstBeat and Garmin, and all the "experts" who developed this marvellous feature:

The FR965 measured during my workout 5s@181avgHR and max also 181,(Polar H10 via BT, the most accurate way as you can measure the HR i think., HRV logging enabled, so the R-R intervals also prove it), 15s@180avgHR, 30s@179avgHR. (and i wasnt on absolute max, 3-4beats left in the tank for sure...)

The FR965 suggested at the end of the ride a 178 maxHR as theoretical max. This "very clever" Firstbeat algorhythm didnt know what was own measurement 60mins ago? :D P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C.

any comments,   ?

  • I have a Polar H10 myself and while cycling I had 193 max HR and according to Garmin 189. Running 193 and according to Garmin 192.  This is definitely advanced math, not for us.
