Heart Rate Bug - Part 2

Team Garmin,

Respectfully, if you are going to close the ability for users to post on the most viewed and active topic in the channel, the entire point of the community and discussion board is missed. Many suffer in silence, and there are even discussions on other platforms, such as Strava.

It would be best if you addressed the "attacks on other users or Garmin employees" directly, or the entire forum should be shut, in my view.

If you must close the ability for users to comment, what will be Garmin's cadence for reporting progress on the known bug using the original post?

How does Garmin release a new watch such as the 965 knowing well enough that they still have issues with HR. Had the same issue with the 955 a year ago, returned it too. They still cannot get it right…

This bug has been escalated to the highest level. We have a fix in an upcoming software update, but I do not have a timeline for when it will be released unfortunately. I will update this thread…

Hi pciccarello,

I still have the ability to comment on locked threads, so communication from us regarding the heart rate topic can still be updated. Unfortunately that thread had too many comments that violated our Rules of Conduct so we decided it was best to lock it. I am asking that anyone else who would like to be added to the impact of the report reach out to Product Support directly, or wait for an update on the main (now locked) thread.

This is an ongoing effort for us internally, and the information gathered here in the community as well as product support contacts has been very helpful. Since there is not a static interval in which this is updated on our side I am unable to promise a daily "we are still working on this" update when no additional news is available.

We completely understand the frustration caused by this and do thank everyone for their patience while a permanent resolution is being worked on. This thread will remain open for continued discussion for as long as posts are productive, and unabusive.

How does Garmin release a new watch such as the 965 knowing well enough that they still have issues with HR. Had the same issue with the 955 a year ago, returned it too. They still cannot get it right. How is it that other manufacturers can. Watches as expensive as the 965 should not be a test bed for us runners at our expense!!

I traded in the 965 for the Epix Pro and couldn't be happier. The elevate 5 monitor is very accurate.

Hi Team Garmin,

Another run today, another disappointment in HR data due to this bug. I'm starting to get bothered where this is impacting my fitness level reporting as this has been on going for months.

Here's a link to my run with two spikes. Here's the link.

The drop in HR is where I stopped running, took my watch off, put it back on, started the watch and resumed running.

Hi Sierra, Thank you for the comment, yet it's still a vague on when..this month, this quarter, or this year? Which Public Beta will the HR fix be addressed in, please? Hopefully that's called out as a fix within forums.garmin.com/.../announcements
