Why oh why must glances keep changing!

Why oh why must Glances change when the watch is connected to Garmin Express to sync etc.

This is just so annoying and unnecessary.

Adds things that weren't there , removes items that were!

Of the 23 I had , 9 are left and not in the same order either!

Fortunately I have a spreadsheet with all my settings!

    Can you please remove and re-add your device in Garmin Express and let me know if it continues to happen?

  • I too experienced this behavior with garmin express on my mac, many times.

    This happened with my old forerunner 935. I reported it years ago, Nothing is done with it. (Glances were called widgets back then)

    This happened with my first forerunner 965. I reported it months ago. Nothing is done with it.

    This happened with my second forerunner 965 (garmin exchanged it due to the many, many, many firmware problems I experienced)

     Maybe, just a wild idea, garmin should fix the problem and not try to hide it for a while.

  • Garmin 965 - have the same issue. After connection to Express app - glances gone :((. And not the first time, at first I thought it's one time glitch, but it's repeating and very annoying 

  • I removed the watch from GE, re-added it & guess what happened once I disconnected, the glances order had changed again. 

  • So far (like mentioned), it looks like removing your device from Garmin Express and re-adding it solves this. Please let me know if your glances still re-order themselves after attempting those steps. 

  • This behaviour is there for many years. I reported it many times.

    I also said, garmin isn't interested in fixing their buggy software and you assured me that is not the case.

    Here we see a clear example of garmin not being interested in fixing their buggy software. You are happy to tell people how to temporary "fix" the problem and don't tell the software developers to fix it.

    I have a strong suspicion software developers at garmin are not allowed to spend their time on bug fixing.

  • Totally agree with those observations! I wish all customer support guys from all companies stopped time-wasting advice like restart, reset, unpair, disconnect, reconfigure and have their developers properly fix the root cause. Properly fixing something does not require a restart or reset or any other trick. And if, rarely, such an action should be done, a proper bug fix should schedule and administer such an action automatically. It's not up to the user to do troubleshooting and device/software testing...

  • I haven’t used garmin express for quite some time (on my mac) because I know it’s buggy.

    Still, this morning, the order of the glances changed over night.

    Please report to the software developers (and stop suggesting work arounds)

    And report to your managers that there is a big problem with software quality. If garmin is by any means a reasonable company they would listen to you and act on it. The company where I work for does.

  • Just to confirm, removing the device in GC & re-adding does not fix this issue as I've just had my glances once again re-ordered.
