Looking for "photo in notifications" clarification in 17.26

Shows images in phone notifications (Android only)

Is this on the phone or the watch? I assumed on the watch, but I'm still getting just text of the photo file name or "sent a photo" or something along those lines. We've got a beautiful OLED screen now, it's about time that photo previews are displayed on watch notifications!

    update, it does mean on the watch as I got an image in Whatsapp.  however, it doesn't work with discord and Google messages

    Seeing an image on the watch feature only works if the notification on the phone actually has a preview of the image in it as well, since the Garmin software just replicates what the phone notification does.
    So if the app on the phone does not show a preview, it wont show on the watch.

    this is not true.  both discord and Google messages show images on phone notifications but not on the watch. on the watch discord notifications show the fine name (xxx.jpg) and messages shows "image"

    Then Garmin needs to work on their code.

    WhatsApp doesn't show photos for me on the watch, sounds like it works for some people.

    I use Signal as my main messenger app and after the latest firmware update the first message with a picture showed the picture also on my watch. Unfortunately, after that I haven't seen any pictures. The watch just shows the camera icon as it used to before the firmware update. So no, this feature is not working properly for me.
