Rower with bluetooth compatibility

Hello,

I'd like to know if rower with only bluetooth connection are compatible with this watch ? If yes, what data are retrieved by the watch ?

Thanks

  • I know the PM5 on the Concept 2 rower will link up with Garmin. You can also download the Erg Data App too.

  • I have my Concept 2 Row ERG PM5 connected as a Smart Trainer so my Garmin 945 LTE logs all the PM5 data: Rower Pace, Power Watts, Distance (Meters), Distance per Stroke, Strokes, SPM (Avg & M ax), Lap Data,

I have the Concept 2 Bike ERG and it also connected easily as a Smart Trainer. I do Garmin Suggested Bike Workouts with Power. The $1100 price seems reasonable. It only weights 55 pounds so easy to move.

  • That's exactly what I search. I don't know how to verify if another rower can transmit these information. Concept 2 is great model but is too expansive for my wife ^^

  • Contact the tech support of any rower you like and ask them if it broadcasts the ANT+ Smart Trainer data.

I doubt you'll find any, most cheap rowers have simple lame electronics.

The Concept2 is $990 which is on the low end of modern rowers. It has no monthly fees. It a solid piece of equipment that will last forever. It comes with a 5 year warranty. It easily breaks in half so can take little space when not in use. Weighs 50 pounds for both halves so easy to move. For 20+ years it has been the best and in all fitness centers.

They are often sold used so look on Craig's list or FB. Be sure and get at least a Model D with a PM5. Don't expect low prices.

The 965 is a $600 watch so $1000 for a C2 RowERG does not seem high versus about $600 for a budget rower that will not be 1/2 as good.

Search for reviews and you'll find a lot of articles as rowing has become popular, it is excellent exercise but a lot of work (no coasting) e.g.

  • Thanks. I live in France and price are highest than your example. Therefore, I must choose between renew my FR920XT or acquire Concept2 rower, but that's not the problem here ^^

  • I've bought Concept2 Model D.
I'll try to add it on my Edge (because I've keep my 920 :-)). Thanks.
I'll test PM5 integration to obtain same values as you.

  • Not only can the Concept 2 connect directly to your watch, but you can set up the Concept 2 Logbook to automatically export your workouts to Garmin. Since I set this up, I've stopped using the ErgIQ app.

  • I've connected logbook to garmin successfully. But they are more information from ERGiq, with my HRM-Pro+. Therefore, I don't have distance information from this app :-/
