Gesture turning on by itself

I've had my FR965 since last Saturday, and the gesture settings in general use has been turning on on its own around 3 times a day. I use AOD and I don't feel the need for my watch to fully turn on every time I look at it.

Is that a known bug? Is there a shortcut I don't know about that turns gesture on?

  • Have you tried turning gesture off?

Or is it lighting up when not gesturing?

  • Maybe I wasn't clear. I use AOD with gesture off. Sometimes, looking at my watch will trigger the gesture and fully turn on the display even though gesture is off. I then need to turn the gesture on and off again in the settings to go back to the expected behavior.

  • I also use AOD with gesture off. But a while after not touching the watch, the display always decreases its bright a little bit (without getting completely black), and then when you move your wrist the display recovers the defined brightness. It's like a second level of battery saving mechanism.

It didn't work like that when I first powered on the watch, but after a few minutes the behavior became the same as the one you describe.

  • For me, the behavior you're talking about happens when my watch is hidden in my sleeve. But that's not what I'm talking about here, in my case it doesn't just raise the brightness, it goes fully awake with seconds and secondary metrics showing.

I'm probably gonna have to take a video to show what's happening.

  • This issue is gone for me since FW 17.24, all is good now.
