GPS Ready is Slow

As the subject says, my FR 965 takes more than 6 minutes just for the GPS to be in the Ready state, especially if I had not been using it for more than 7 days.

Distance between each row of house is approx 20 meters and each house is probably 15 meters high.

There are trees but the foilage aren't thick. Sky is clear with sparse clouds.

Under such condition, my mobile phone picks up GPS signal within 1 minute.

I tried to sync FR to connect app, but the GPS lock speed is still slow.

I experience this issue with the Forerunner 935 too. Yet, my buddy's 765 picks up GPS real fast.

Anyone experience this too?

765? Maybe 735XT or 745?

I have had no such issues. I did have a GPS issue on my 745 at a stage and calling support they walked me through some ways to address it. I tried to find what it was exactly but I couldn't.

Have you done a soft reset (hold in light button until watch fully shuts down and then restart it)

Also try leave the watch outside for 15 odd minutes to do a GPS soak

Does this happen the same in other areas or just in this location? i.e. is it generally an issue or only in this place?

Have you checked that the ephemeris data in your watch is current? ( https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=6IbaJEHc1i9gydzQomXzyA&identifier=886725&tab=topics )
If not (and if you keep the bluetooth connection between the watch and your phone on), check if Garmin Connect Mobile has location permissions on your phone (to fetch releavent ephemeris data).

whoops, I remembered wrongly. She is using the 920XT.

There was once when both of us had stopped exercising for couple of weeks and we headed outdoor for a quick run, Her 920 changed to GPS ready in half the time mine took.
