What do you do when mobile Garmin Connect doesn't see your 965?

Occasionally, my mobile Garmin Connect app (iOS) will "forget" the 965 and only show my other garmin devices (vivosmart etc).  I usually notice then when I fail to get text message prompts on my watch, so I dive into the app and see the watch is not only not connected, it's not even listed.

Force killing the app is the only thing I can do at this point and sometimes that doesn't work either.  Has anyone else encountered this and has a solution?

  • When I  had bluetooth issues I did the following to make it more sound. Haven't had issues since doing this.

    1. Removed device from the phone BT settings (forget it)

    2. Removed GC app from iPhone completely

    3. Restarted with soft reset Garmin device (hold power button in until the watch restarts) 

    4. Soft restart the iphone

    5. Reinstall GC app and sign in

    6. Re-pair the Garmin device(s)

    Maybe just items 1, 3 , 6 will so the trick also. 

  • Thanks, that does sound a little like the nuclear-option but should do it.  Hopefully only needed 1 time as you said.

    This time, force-killing the app three times finally got it to "reset" for me.

  • Luckily one doesn't loose data , just a bit of time.

  • The full list of antidote steps are above.  Less nuclear: try closing the GC app, and then turning off and on bluetooth on your device.
