Is there plans to add a Sleep Coach in new firmware versions? Its sad 965's have huge problems with the sleep definition

The new version of Venu 3 has added a long-awaited feature, at least for me, Sleep Coach. Any hope of seeing this on 965?

The most important feature that is missing on Forerunner 965 is the definition of nap. In the 965's, the sleep tracking function works lousy (for example: if I went to bed at 10pm, and woke up at 3am for one hour, then my sleep counts already from 3am until morning rise. In the morning, if I wake up at 6 am, turn off the alarm and sleep for another hour, then the watch does not determine this. Surprisingly, the Chinese fitness bracelet determined sleep much more accurately than a $600 watch

  • You should work more on you sleep so you don't wake up at 3am for one hour. No matter how your watch will evaluate your sleep. It's just not good sleeping, even if you have 7-8 hours of total sleep. So at the end it's better that your watch - Garmin will give you a a bad sleep number. And don't worry, sleep nap will be available soon in FR 965

  • Also looking forward to having naps included - I do that quite a lot! Having said this, the FR965 99% nails my nights sleeping times. The sleep stages tracking, on the other hand, is quite random and has way to much influence on the score compared to sleep duration. I learned to accept that. Having the nap funciton added is a step in the right direction.

what's your source on stating napping will come?

  • DC Rainmaker answer on my comment on YouTube. Unfortunately time when is unknown, but it will come. And i think to beta version within a month.

  • Seems nap is here now in the actaual beta

  • I don't see the point of adding another function to the watch (nap detection) if the basic function (sleep detection) works as poorly as it does today. I would prefer Garmin working on bringing the sleep detection accuracy to a decent level. The poor sleep accuracy impacts a lot of other things like Recovery time, Training readiness, and suggested daily workouts.

  • For me this is not correct. I evolved from Fenix 3 HR to FR945 to FR965 and for me the sleep tracking looks very accurate. But I also have a very good sleeping routine.

  • No issues for me neither, it tracks sleep and naps just perfect.
