After the 16.17 update, the Garmin built-in watch faces are again showing step counts >=10000 with full numbers instead of 10k etc! Thanks, Garmin!
Well, actually, a somewhat similar reverse problem was introduced when they also increased the font size of glance folders' "title glance". If step count is your first glance in a glance folder, the folder's title (before you enter it) doesn't have space for the full step count (if it has more than 3 numbers), so it ends up continuously scrolling the count, which looks a little funny.
