FW 16.17 No perimeter map screen ?

I thought the FR 965 was going to get the data fields around the perimeter of the map screen option, maybe I assume incorrectly.

I can add the options of the data fields to the side (split) and the usual 1 or 2 data fields overlay on top but no perimeter ?

Not exactly as that rendered marketing picture in this thread shows, where all perimeter text is easy to read. Reality can be seen in the beta thread bug report for the FR955, asking for the bottom part…

Similar problem on the 255, 955 and 265 even though the changelog says added new map types. At least the 965 got split screen.

Maybe on the next quarterly update, sigh! more waiting.

Hopefully we also get the "reply to messages with the onscreen keyboard" and the "view messages with images" features from the Venu 3 as well.

Yes, but it's strange that the changelog does not match up with what was actually released.

Software version 16.17 for the Forerunner 965 is now available and is at 50% Phased Rollout.

Change Log:

Adds map types and map data field options.

View messages with images should come in the next quarterly release (3 months time) considering that the 965 is AMOLED.

Why don't we get the perimeter map screen too? None of this makes any sense to me. Or should this feature be reserved exclusively for the more expensive models? Fw 17.26 no Perimeter!

I also thought this was coming in the Q4 update, I guess we have to wait longer
