High battery drain after fully charged

I bought a forerunner 965 a few days ago. It came with 79% battery and I haven't charge it for a few days. Today when it reached ~ 50% I charged it to 100% (BTW: it was relatively fast to reach 99%, and then took lot of time to reach 100%) and the battery is draining very fast now. It lost 4% in the 1st hour. It looks like it's getting better with time (6% in 4 hours). On the other hand the built-in battery widget predicts 23 days. Is this something that will gett better after a few times I'll charge it?

  • Hi, with version 20.26 the issue even got worse.

battery is draining quickly. I'm thinking of leaving the beta program

  • 20.26 is not beta any more, it's the official latest public release.
אם תרצה משהו יותר טוב אולי תשכול לעזוב את גרמין...

  • I have no intention of leaving garmin products. Just convince them to solve this issue.

I had fenix 6x before and never encountered such severe problem....

  • For your information Fenix 8 / Enduro 3 / Fenix E just received 11.64 with Battery Drain and Naps fixes.

, Garmin yes you can, all FRx55/x65 are waiting for your feedback for a fix too

  • My Garmin Forerunner 965 watch has just started doing similar. Fully charged says 50 days, a week later 45, fine, then a few days later of wearing but not using it's 20 days. Maybe should replace the battery?

  • What? 50 days????
But you're still lucky, because you reach the "a week later" state, while mine only holds 5.5 days...

  • My forerunner 965 is 1 one month old.

Done 4 charging. Yeterday morning charged full 100%.

Today morning had 78% left.( yesterday was reccovery day And didint had any acyivity)

I have checked all the settings that I dont hav any extra battery eating programs activated...

  • Hi all,

20.29 didn't fix the battery drain here, at all. After 11 days !! and it is empty.
I installed a battery gauge app to see if something is happening.  For me, it is strange that at certain times the battery drains fast for a short period. But I heard that the steps in the gauge are per 1% and it is not going linear down. You can see it in my screenshots.
I can not really see over what time this is happening, but it is every time at a certain time.
Hope that someone knows what this could be..

    Best regards,
    Manolito

  • What did you do between 10:22 and 7:15? When did you sleep? Did you do any activities? Did you wake up the watch for more than a glance at the time? Which watch face you use? Is AOD enabled?

Also: can you explain the 3rd picture? The 1st and 2nd seem to have been taken when it was 93% but the 3rd shows 5%? It's like the 3rd was taken 10 days after the first two.
