Metal bezel around screen

Hi all!
Interested in buying these watches instead of 955 FR. Excites the question only about the metal bezel around the display. What state is it in now? I remember from my venu 2 that this metal was very sensitive and scratched and wrinkled very quickly. There are no problems on FR955 plastic and there are no problems - scratches and chips are not visible. Post a photo, please.

  • I just today believe I notice some nicks in my gray titanium bezel Grimacing

  • I have mine for 4.5 months, wear it practically 24/7 and regularly hit things (like walls, doors) with the bezel or rub it against things (when searching for things in pockets, etc.). So far so good, the bezel looks like new. I am more worried about the screen glass, but it also shows no wear or scratches. Unlike the hardware of an all-black Garmin watch band I bought (‎010-12901-00) which shows clear wear and has very visible scratches.

  • My bezel shows slight signs of use and scratches after about three months of use. But that's not a big deal for me. The display is still flawless. I also had an FR955 before and there were no signs of wear on the display or bezel.

  • 3 months in, lucky to haven't scratched it. I use a screen protector as I don't trust the Gorilla glass durability. For "rougher" activities like climbing or tennis I use a TPU case which works well.

  • I'm not happy with that bezel. My watch fell of wasching maschine on the tiles in the bathroom only once (90 cm) and now bezel has small dent, metal chip and few scratches. I use watch 24/7 for 3 months, no single scratch before. Does anyone know is it possible to replace it at Garmin Authorized Service?

  • You can, but the expenses would be high imo. Just use the watch and enjoy it, dents and scratches will eventually happen. You can cover the screen (gorilla glass) scratches (if minor) by adding some plastic cover (protective film) on it.

  • Mine’s perfect so far after 2 months of constant use.  I have put a screen protector over the gorilla glass.  Which does add a bit of reflectivity.

  • I’ve owned the 965 for about a month. I put a screen protector on it, but nothing to protect the bezel and that got scratched at the top just by lightly bumping into the drywall in my hallway. So far, that’s the only instance of getting it hit. I guess I’m not as lucky as others who have beat up their watch a bit more with no cosmetic damage. Everything still works fine. I’m just disappointed with it’s appearance after only owning it for a month. I know there's more important things in the world, but I’m just annoyed it scratched so easily and soon after how much I paid for it.

  • If you lightly bumped into drywall, it's likely just a scuff you can wipe away with a little water.

  • Yeah. I thought it was paint and tried washing it off, but it’s legitimately scratched. And in such a weird place too. Just bad luck I guess. Thanks.
