FR965 software less responsive than Epix 2?

So I have an Epix 2 and recently got an FR965 (because of the lighter weight, mostly).

I like both, but - and this could be my imagination - it SEEMS that the FR965 is less immediately responsive to button presses than the Epix 2.

I seem to recall having been impressed at how quickly I could jump between screens on the Epix, whereas the FR965 seems a little pokey.

Anyone else notice that? I would think they would be the same, given the FR965 is newer and I would HOPE that the underlying SOC would be similar.

I find my new forerunner 965 way more laggy than my 6 year old forerunner 935.

Interesting. I find my 965 much more responsive than my Fenix 5+ (which should be about the same as 935).

I confirm, I also noticed the same difference between Epix2 and 965.

Isn't the interface (UI) of the 965 different to the one on the Epix? I do not own Epix but Fenix 7x and I guess they are pretty similar (UI wise). The 965 has much more 'graphics', animations and so on. So I guess it needs more GPU power, hence more 'slow', although I have not experienced drastic lagging compared to the F7X.

Yes, i think that with the more fx in ui could be a reason plus the higher resolution of the frb965 screen: 454 vs. 416 pixels. hope that garmin can tweak a bit more, even when its not a problem for me.
