Virtual Partner arrow

I recently recorded multiple hiking activities during a backpacking trip, during which I was following a course. Despite presumably not having Virtual Partner enabled, I saw a grey arrow following me along the course in addition to my position arrow. Is this intended?

Yes, this is normal. If you follow a course it will use the integrated pacer or a auto-generated pacer for the gray arrow (and the time ahead and time behind data-fields). There have been many posts on the forums for an option to opt-out of this (because some people don't like the gray arrow), but it doesn't exist.
