Sync fail with Garmin Explore - Not supported?

To send locations to my 965 from my phone, I used the Garmin Explore app - but a week after getting the watch, the app stopped syncing properly. This is a huge annoyance because it makes the watch much less usable as a navigation tool. Sendpoints is a nice third-party solution, but it's much less convenient than using the Explore app.

I see in other forums that this is a common issue and also Garmin Support's reply was simply - "Your watch is not compatible with the app", as written on the app page. But why would the 955 be supported and not the 965? Garmin, if this is the issue - can you please add support for 965?

    Android or iOS?

I have iOS 16 and 17 here and both syncs with the FR965 without any issue (Garmin Explore App).
Is there anything in particular that is not working?

  • I have iOS 17. Two things are not working:

    1. It says "Sync fail" after it attempts to sync.

    2. Waypoints that I add on the app do not end up on my device.

I think it worked for me as well for a week. Don't know what the story is, but I see it's an issue many users have (of other models at least).

Well, iOS 17 is beta. What's the FW of the FR965?

Did you try to delete the device in the Garmin Explore App and add it again?
