Forerunner 965... A big mistake buying it.

Hello, after buying the 965 (4.19) I found a lot of issues that is making me regret of buying it.

- In the treadmill, I put a 265s with the 965, 265s was giving good heart rate reading compared with my Polar H10, but the 965 was really off... The video in the attachment

- In the pool, when I swim 50 mts, the 965 shows 100mts and I didn't find a way to correct this...

- The stress measure sometimes totally stops, I see -- instead of a measurement...

Seems the best of the best watches are the Apple ones with bad battery of course, but I have Android so no way to but the Apple.

After watching a Youtube video here:

I'm more upset of buying this thing... You need a Fitbit for tracking sleeping and for heart rate the Huawei.

This watch has bad bad hardware or the software is so buggy that Garmin should not be selling it... very very disappointed...

  • Oh wow! I hope that is a translation error and you aren’t calling people imbeciles for disagreeing with you…

    1. That’s as maybe, but were you testing with two watches on one wrist? The 265 matched the treadmill in your video. But the 965 worn further down your arm close to your hand was not, as it was not being worn as advised. You need to look at the forum in more depth to see that you are in a minority. Whilst there are issues with firmware etc, you are one of very very few people experiencing the issues you are having. As Jordi has pointed out, DC Rainmaker a highly trusted reviewer has not had these issues, and he is quick to call any problems out…so I think you need to speak to Garmin and let them do the diagnostics they need to do. Especially before you start calling people imbeciles

There are lot of paid Youtubers ;)

  • Okay that's the where I leave you because this comments just proves you are not open to any reason just want to make a point based on whatever it is.

Everyone is free to buy whatever they want even following paid Youtubers :), I will never recommend to anyone to buy the 965 because has really bad software, better go to the 955.

  • One final comment, since I believe that If someone is spreading lies they need to be called out, you do not have any evidence that DC Rainmaker is paid by Garmin to give a positive review. So until you have such proof, don't start spreading lies as soon as you are confronted with facts that you can't counter, I know it's a fashion these days.

Is naive to think that lot of Youtubers are not paid in some way, even giving them free stuff from companies... but this is offtopic.

  • I agree with Jordi, but I am feeling less polite. You have come to the forum with an agenda, and anyone who has tried to disagree with you have automatically been wrong, however you have done very little to prove your point on your own hardware. All I have seen is a bad video of you wearing one of the watches wrong. This has done nothing to sway me to your way of thinking that the watch is a duff. I use my 965 daily, and if I was experiencing the sort of issues you were getting I would ask Garmin directly. I may make a post to ask if anyone else has experienced something, but I would not just jump to calling the product bad. As I said before, you clearly have an agenda, for what reason I do not know, but trolls gonna troll I guess. I hope that Garmin see this thread and close it down as it serves no use to the community.

  • Well said arcalius, totally agree with you. Let's leave it here some people are not very receptive to reason and facts, got the feeling that is going on here as well.

  • He may well be paid, but he does not blow smoke up their behinds. As with a lot of the Youtubers who have reviewed Garmin watches (I have watched a fair few in my time, the joys of hyper fixation) most will call a spade a spade. Companies like Garmin rely on the youtubers. Whilst some will give gushing reviews and ignore the bad points, because "YEY FREE STUFF!" The ones worth their salt will give an honest opinion. This is how Garmin get some of their early feedback. These Youtubers get the watch quite a way ahead of release, and with the example of DC Rainmaker, he will be in open conversation with Garmin during that time. So I think you need to get off your high horse, put your agenda away and I don't know. Sell the mistakes you made, and go to a different infrastructure, as Garmin clearly is not for you.
