Back button in activity does not bring you to your watchface

On my other Garmin watches by disabling the manual round button a press on the back button brings you to your watchface and if you press ist again you can go back to your activity. On the gamin 965 this does not work. If you disable the round function the button does nothing afterwards.

  • Same here. I’m pretty sure you can do that in Epix. When I switch to 965, I’m surprised that you can’t long press Back to go back to the main page(like put current activity running in background).

Garmin certainly removes some small handy features away from Epix/Fenix series.

  • You have to manually set it as a hotkey. And if I remember correctly, pressing back again doesn't take you back to the activity. You have to press start for that.

    But otherwise, effectively the same.

  • It's the same story on 955. I believe that the whole "Disable Lap Key" feature was added to be able to use Back button to go Back - to whatever screen was used before launching the activity (vs the main watchface), and that the current behavior is just a bug in the firmware. Assigning the hotkey is so-so workaround, as it requires *long* press and does not make it go *back*, rather *pushes* you into the watchface (btw, compared to normal going back, there's extra ring displayed around every screen in that mode). You also "waste" hotkey assignment that could be otherwise used for something else.To make things more bizarre, returning from that hotkey triggered watchface mode to activity requires *two* presses of Back.
