965 reboots/crashes mid-run while listening to music

Hey all, I have only had my 965 for a couple of weeks.  Brand new Garmin user.  I usually only run 2 times a week or so.  So far, I have only had 5 GPS runs.  4 crashed mid run - usually somewhere between minute 4 and minute 13.  The only other time the HR monitor got stuck around 134 - so garmin thinks I can run like 5 minute miles now ;P.

It usually goes something like this.

  1. Start up music and connect to Bluetooth ear buds and begin playing.
  2.  Walk for a bit.
  3.  Start Run activity (after waiting for GPS lock...which is pretty fast).
  4. While running, the watch starts cutting in/out a bit with Bluetooth ear buds.
  5.  Crash/Reboot
  6. Watch comes back up and asks me if I want to resume.
  7.  Music hotkey no longer works.  Music app is dead - it won't even open.
  8.  After the crash during the run, I tried powering off (via the long hold light button menu) and then back on via light button.
  9.  Music app still won't open.

Today I learned that you can hold the light button in for 30 seconds and it will force shutdown.  When I tried that, and then started back up, the music app was finally working again.  Music was mp3's.  I imported those into Itunes library, and then used garmin express to transfer.  I have tried deleting the music and resyncing the music.  Does anyone else experience this issue or have any idea what could cause this?  Any ideas of what to try here to stop this from happening?

This watch is amazing in so many other ways, but this is a deal breaker for me.
