The clock freezes every time I press CONFIGURE MAPS

Same problem. After installing any OSM map the clock freezes when I want to configure maps. After deleting the installed OSM map it works fine with the TOPO Active. But I prefer to use OSM

Please, anyone who experiences the freezing issue, write here in the forum, that you give permission to Garmin to reach you out. They cannot contact you further without this permission.
I would do it, but I am not getting the freeze, only the map is sometimes not listed among the other maps for me.

The map is installed on my Garmin 955 (FW 15.17) but I can't view the map since I can't configure the watch to display the map. The watch freezes and I have to hold down the power button to get out of the freeze. I give permission to Garmin to contact me about this issue. Thank you!

I am also concerned by this issue. I put three custom maps to the watch, because I did this with my Epix 2 without problems. But I couldn't choose one of them because the watch first freezed and then rebooted. This happened even when I tried to install only a small map < 200 MB.

Interesting is also, that installing the maps didn't work with Garmin Basecamp (newest version), there seemed to be too little storage. Of course there is more than enough free storage. I had to copy the maps with Windows Explorer to the watch, but the maps couldn't be used, as described above.
