Buttons

So I have had my 965 for less than a week now. I find buttons generally better than with previous Garmin watches (Epix, Fenix, Forerunner 955) but some of them still has a bit glitchy feeling and sometimes I hear metallic sound when pressing the button, like spring.

how are you finding the buttons?

Same here, metallic spring sound. Seem like the spring was not installed right on place.

My stop/start button sounds springy too, the rest are ok, definitely not the premium solid feel the Fenix line has but I guess that's with the whole line

I would like ot know this too, as mine has the springy sound and I am in half a mind to ask Garmin about it.

Didn't contact garmin about the buttons. I did overwhelm them with bug reports.

But I live in the Netherlands and we have excellent consumer protection. If my watch fails within the expected lifetime of the watch, garmin has to come with a solution. So I have plenty of time. (and sending in a watch and receiving a replacement will take at least 2 weeks, and probably more, and only to receive a watch that has probably the same problem, better wait for revision B).

same, my 965 buttons are all good, much better than my Fenix 6 Pro , especially the back button, loose spring like when press.

Is this an official acknowledgment garmin knows there is an issue with buttons on a forerunner 965?

No. Garmin did not acknowledge Fenix / Epix button problems after users had numerous and serious issues after swimming in pool or open water, so I doubt they will acknowledge the problem with buttons on any other watch.

The buttons are inconsistent and kind of mushy for me too - had the same issue with multiple Epix and Fenix models. Sad to still see it with a new model! Not sure I want to deal with another exchange - maybe time to stick with my Coros.

Some of my buttons have the same issue. Also the Start/Stop button occasionally has a phantom click press. Happened only twice so far, but I reckon this problem may become more severe over time.

Had it for 2 months now.

Also experiences a weird 300 no wifi error as per my other post.
