HRV - new watch, new 3 weeks

Good morning all,

I assume everyone is in the same boat with a new Garmin the 3 week HRV process starts again? I had lots of data from the Epix but it looks as if it all resets (may be due as it needs a trend from an individual sensor)?

PS on an aside, is there anyway to change the morning report image (I dislike that coffee gif) :)

  • I had expected this as well going from a 255 to 965.

However, the HRV registration just continued nicely in GC.

  • So you had no issue with the transition?

  • Mine worked Ok , although as noted GC stays full but you do see on the new watch that the history needs to build there. In my case I had a gap of a 4 days where I was without a watch. Its much better than it was under the old process.

I am not sure if many are aware , but you can copy across activity settings (data screens) by using a dump of your device drive , and then placing the settings from the old watch activities onto the new watch drive.

  • Thanks I would have assumed Garmin Connect would have facilitated the transfer seamlessly but it appears I one week in on a three week wait :( you live and learn, thanks for the transfer tip too.

  • It worked automagically. Already at the first day with the new watch

  • That is how it looks on mine now . As mentioned I didn't have a watch on for approx 4 days as one can see. , But it does pick up the range etc for HRV

  • Mine is all over the place. I have a 7 day average but no status as I need to wear the watch for two more weeks. Baffled.

  • I recall seeing a post by DC Rainmaker on the issue in one of the forums on this matter

  • Well, I don’t know if what I’m going to write here will help anyone, but it worked for me.

To begin with I was using a 255. When I got a Fenix 7, it synced everything, except HRV status. I was annoyed, so on the next day I reset the Fenix, deleted it from GC and set it up again. Surprisingly, everything was synced, even HRV status and its baseline.

Today my 965 arrived and I was using the Fenix 7 as primary device. When I synced the new watch, same issue. Everything was transferred to the 965, except HRV status and Training Readiness. Af few hours later, I reset the 965 to factory settings, deleted it from the GC and set it up again as new. In a few minutes, everything was synced.

  • Interesting... I got the FR965 a week ago and it happened as you said. I was using Epix2 and everything was synced but the HRV status. Then, I played around with device priorities and the HRV status on my Epix was gone, so basically no HRV status.
