Hello everyone,
I need help managing my Garmin Forerunner 955 metrics in a biphasic sleep scenario (split into two periods).
Current situation:
Due to my work, I need to sleep in two separate blocks:
- First sleep: 4 hours
- Break: I wake up, work for a few hours
- Second sleep: 4 hours
- Total sleep: 7 to 8 hours
The problem:
After waking up from the second sleep, the watch shows:
- Extremely low Body Battery (as if I had only slept 3 or 4 hours)
- Very high recovery time
- All metrics are compromised because the device only considers the last sleep block
Consequences:
This breaks the entire metrics system I use to:
- Plan training intensity
- Assess recovery
- Make decisions about weekly volume
- Know when I can push or need to pull back
For example: If I train after waking from my second sleep, the watch will suggest 48h+ recovery based on incorrect data (as if I were poorly recovered), even though I slept 8 hours total.
My questions:
- Is there any way to manually "merge" the two sleep periods so that Garmin calculates the metrics correctly considering the 7-8 hours total?
- Is there any known workaround for biphasic/polyphasic sleep situations?
Thanks!
