Number of floor exploding, heart rate stuck the first 10min of every workout

Hello,

First time posting here - I always target to climb 10 floors per day, and the watch was working well at the beginning (May screenshot) but now the watch hallucinates and detect on average 50 floors on a daily basis. Sometimes I just go out and I hit 20 floors at once. I tried to clean the opening of the barometer with some solution suggested online with no success.

Then I have a new issue on any workout : the heart rate is super flat for the first 10-15 min, stuck at 130 before jumping to 170 (my usual HR in this workout)

I had a 935 and 945 before, I came back to Garmin after an average experience with Apple Ultra 2.

What should I do next? I love Garmin products but now my daily satisfaction of hitting my 10 floors daily and my workout tracking is kind of ruined...

Thanks for the great hardware - hope to find a resolution :)

  • I find the floors/altimeter readings to be quite sensitive to environmental changes. For me, quick temperature changes have the biggest impact, so unless I start and finish the activity within a perfectly stable environment, I’ve quit fussing over 10-20 meter elevation discrepancies.

Your cadence lock at the start of the activity is not great. I feel like the most recent update messed something up. It used to only occur <10% of the time and was easy to correct with band adjustment. Now, with the latest update, I find >30% erroneous heart rate cadence lock. FYI, cadence lock is a known issue, but to be quite honest, at least from my perspective, it seems to be an ongoing technical/hardware issue that deserves more attention.

FYI, I do find your HR chat acceptable if it looks consistently the way it does. I contact / call support on that if it continues.  For the time being I’ve resorted to wearing the watch on the underside of my wrist for my most important training (hopefully that changes with future updates!).
