Why the FR955 does not get the "Health Status" widget? It's on Garmin Connect, but not on the watch. Is it really so difficult (or expensive) to implement ???

Yes, the FR955 is outdated now.

DCR posted about this almost 3 months ago:
The following devices will receive the Health Status feature within Garmin Connect (platform), once the devices receive an upcoming firmware update, which in turn enables the server-side feature:
Venu 3
Vivoactive 5
Forerunner 255/955
Forerunner 165/265/965
Fenix 7 Family (Fenix 7, Tactix7, Quatix7, Epix Gen 2, Epix Pro, Marq Gen 2, Fenix 7 Pro)
Enduro 2
Instinct 3/3E/Tactical
Index Sleep Band
Lily 2 Active
And then the next set of devices will receive the feature on both Garmin Connect (platform), as well as widgets on-device:
Venu X1
Vivoactive 6
Forerunner 570/970
Fenix 8 Family
Enduro 3
Tactix 8
Quatix 8
Garmin itself released a Nov 2025 feature chart with the same information:

Is it really so difficult (or expensive) to implement ???
They want you to buy a newer watch. Every time Garmin omits a new feature from an existing watch, someone asks a similar question, and the answer is always the same.
They want you to buy a newer watch.
expensive
Consider that developing new features probably costs more than $0, that Garmin probably relies on the fact that more than 0 people will buy a new Garmin watch for whatever reason, and that putting new features on new watches is one of the ways that Garmin tries to get people to buy new watches.
You don't have to buy a new watch (I'm happy with my FR955), and Garmin doesn't have to give you new features.
I know some pretty fast runners who still rock an FR920XT or FR235, which are both 10+ years old at this point. They don't go around asking why they don't get certain features X, Y and Z from newer watches that are technically possible to port back to old watches.
As a matter of fact, it seems to me that for non-Fenix watches older than circa 2018, Garmin never really added that many features post release anyway. (I've "only" been in the Garmin ecosystem for about 10 years tho.)
Now that Garmin started adding features for about 2-3 years post release, people are starting to ask why Garmin doesn't just add new features indefinitely.
(I'm the biggest Garmin critic on things like bugs and bad UX, but I don't agree that Garmin has to add new feature to old devices just because they can. Everybody should know by this point that new features is one way that Garmin gets people to buy new watches.)
I don't have a problem with not getting the health status glance on the watch.
However, the watch is not even getting bug fixes. The 4 o'clock bug* on the analogue watch face that was introduced with a firmware release some time ago will not be fixed.
* watch hands show 4pm when returning to watch face on the hour (e.g. at 12noon) from an activity, returning from a glance, displaying watch face in an activity etc.
So far, so good. My point is: the FR955 isn't a $100 or $200 watch; it cost around $600. So you can expect a bit more.
Why do you expect newer features - you didn't pay for them.

So, following your argument:
I bought a car some years ago and that was *really* expensive, they charged me tens of thousands of euros for it. So because it was so expensive, now I can expect to get lifetime map updates, right?
Compared to that, a Garmin FR 955 is really cheap, so probably I will have to pay for map updates, right?
*Oh wait*
IT IS THE OTHER WAY AROUND?
Garmin with their cheap watch will give me map updates for free, while the car company will charge me extra for map updates on my expensive car?
I expected a bit more...
Indeed. Maybe I should demand 955 features on my 255 just because the hardware is the same! As long as Garmin makes the advertised specifications work properly then they don't owe us any new features. Otherwise they wouldn't sell new watches and their aim is to make profits at the end of the day.
