Stress glance last 7 days view loses 6 datapoints after viewing

When I view the week overview in the stress glance once (after a week not looking at it), it has 7 datapoints. When viewed again, it has only one.

It has been this way since I can remember on Fenix 6, Fenix 7 and FR955. The Respiration Rate glance is the same in this respect. Probably it is meant to work this way, but why?

  • I have an FR955 and I don't see the same behaviour at all.

I can see 7 days worth of history for both the stress glance and respiration rate glance, and it doesn't disappear when I look again.

It's not that I don't believe you, but there may be a bug that somehow affects you and not me (even across multiple generations of watches).

  • The only thing different between most eveyone elses configuration and mine, is that my Garmin profile has Data Upload set to Off. I don't see why that would wipe the datapoints from the only the Stress and Respiration widgets though. Everything else works just fine.

  • It does sound like a bug. They probably just didn't test those glances with your config and/or coded them with the assumption that data would be synced to Connect.

I don't see why that would wipe the datapoints from the only the Stress and Respiration widgets though.

    Maybe it's a 2 way sync thing:

    - watch records stress and respiration

    - watch wants to sync stress and respiration to Connect (and fails in your case)

    - after the first time you look at those glances in a while, watch wants to sync stress and respiration back from Connect (and fails in your case)

So instead of just always displaying local data, maybe those glances try to display the data the watch tried to sync back from Connect, and since there is no data to be displayed, it displays nothing (except for today's data.)

What happens if you disable bluetooth on your watch to prevent auto sync attempts (assuming it's currently enabled)? Do you see the same problem? I'm not saying you should have to do that as a solution, but I'm curious if it would work around the problem. That would kinda confirm my guess above.

  • Good one! Disabling BLE and the glance works normally. Thank you!

Not using it as a solution but it solves the mystery (I still wonder why they leave a bug like this in, I and others reported it years ago)
