Do not disturb WARNING!!

For your SA, Android operating system btw, dont know if this a shared attribute with iPhone. With the new app update, if your phone is in do not disturb the notifications on the watch will follow suit. Even if the watch is not on do not disturb. After a few hard app resets, watch resets and phone resets the answer was found. Garmin really needs to release a log with all of the updates.

Well as I may understand yours worked that way, mine has not. I've left my phone in do not disturb for the past two years. Only the apps that I've allowed to send notifications in the Garmin connect app…

This isn't new behaviour. I set my Android phone to vibrate instead of using do not disturb.

Only the apps that I've allowed to send notifications in the Garmin connect app have came thru on the watch. That includes all text messages and phone calls from all contacts. I work in emergency services and have used this method for awhile to weed nuisance notifications.

I've had this unpleasant surprise as well. Trying to get it back by resetting everything.

Annoying that Garmin does not publish such impactful changes. Could be that this is a mistake.I would expect that Garmin watch follows the DND schedule set in Garmin connect. It should not care about phone DND.

This was the case for so many years while I had all my (Android) phones set to DND and garmin watch was sending alerts.

It is not a nice workaround, it suits only a limited number of use cases, but maybe it helps someone until hopefully Garmin rolls this change back.

During the day DND is never used on my phone, and it is always on mute. The Forerunner does all the alerting (vibrate only) for calls and messages. Very discrete.

This does not work for Fenix watches though (they only vibrate once or twice for an incoming call, that is easily missed).
