This longstanding problem is still an issue in 24.12.

Anyone else still experiencing this?
Support tell me a fix is in the next release but I am puzzled by this as I can't see any reference in the latest Beta announcement so I am sceptical.
I avoid connecting with GE but unfortunately sometimes it is absolutely necessary for
- download map updates
- sending GARMIN folder to Garmin technical support when there is a problem. This is a particular nuisance because in order to send diagnostics to Garmin I have to deal with another product issue.
Note that it is possible to manually download the GARMIN folder to a computer but the secure file upload only accepts files up to 1GB and the GARMIN folder is likely to be larger than this so this is not straightforward either.
