FR 955 watch freezes 3-4 times a day

Garmin still can't solve the software issue. My Forerunner 955 watch freezes 3-4 times a day after the last update. I have to reboot it all the time. It's very annoying. It's a shame for the manufacturer. Considering the price of Garmin watches. Is it really that difficult to solve the issue of watch freezes? It seems that the software is written by students. Competitors don't have such problems.

    Same with me, it freezes all the time. I have to force a power off, and it struggles to come back on.

    The problem is in the solar charge sensor, after the watch is exposed to the sun it freezes.

    Está acontecendo o mesmo com o meu... trava constantemente, mandei em uma assistência autorizada pela Garmin porém, me passaram um orçamento no mesmo valor de um relógio novo. O diagnóstico é que a placa está esquentando e trava o Garmin 955 solar

    That's the same assumption I have. Nearly every time I expose my watch to full sun it crashes. Hard reset / restart takes 5-10 minutes and has to be done twice or thrice on some occasions. Even with no exposure to sun, the watch freezes 3-5 times a week. It is so frustrating - I am working in IT as well and I understand that sometimes undiscovered bugs can be shipped, but I really doubt Garmin's testing environment respectfully testing behavior and also responsibility for their on software. Over a month with a bug which makes this watch nearly useless - it's a shame, really a shame. But to be honest, with all my Garmin experience over the last years I don't expect better - Garmin is building good hardware but is not capable of building reliable software.

    I talked to the support and they started a replacement - some early watches may have some crappy hardware components as someone in one thread mentioned.

    lucky me ...  With my first watch (from store) the heart rate sensor stopped working after one year and the first refurbished replacement watch got those crash issues ... now I get the third one, a refurbished as well, and I am not that optimistic...

    Thanks for the info. My 955 Solar is my third. The first one had issues with the altimeter, and the second with the backlight. Now this...
