Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar HR Monitor and other sensors are non-functional after update 23.20.

I have a Garmin Forerunner 955 Solar. After the 23.20 update a couple of days ago, the HR monitor has stopped working. I have power cycled the watch, attempted multiple "secret" reinstallations of the software from the "About" screen, and plugged my watch into my computer to try and run an update through Garmin Express. I have even removed the files from the GARMIN/RemoteSW folder and attempted the reinstallation. Unfortunately, nothing has worked at all to restore functionality. The "About" screen still displays 23.20*

Internet, you are my only hope!

  • I am also having the exact same issues! Just tracked a run and detected no elevation data, and the distance was off  by around 8%. It's a regular route I run so I can compare.,

  • I'm also have the same issue, nothing I've tried seems to work

  • I'm beyond frustrated at this point. Ever since the 23.20 update, I'm facing the exact same issue.

I have two HRM monitors (HRM-Run and HRM-Pro Plus), and neither of them will connect to my Forerunner 955 Solar. I've changed the batteries, unpaired and removed the sensors, and still can't reconnect them.

To be clear, both HRMs connect without any issue to my wife's Garmin 245 Music. So let’s stop pretending this isn't the fault of the 955's garbage update.

I'm honestly sick and tired of Garmin pushing out half-baked updates that break core functionality. You're messing with our training data, our programs, and our trust.

  • EVERYONE:

I have a really random solution that worked for me and may help you. Like I said before, I tried everything I saw on the internet to fix the software. However, I did not try individually turning the built-in HR monitor on and off. Go to Settings>Health and Wellness>HR Wrist Monitor. Then turn it off for 10 seconds and turn it back on. The HR monitor immediately started functioning again. Give it a try and tell me if it works for you too.

  • This didn't work for me but the watch now seems to be working during the intermittently.

Still not tracking sleep, stress, or body battery correctly. Some HR info works but then crashes every few hours. Played golf yesterday and didn't give me an option to select clubs, putts or if the fairway was hit or not and also didn't track GPS for where i had walked and save the activity as golf and other. It was only the golf that was recorded.

Went for a walk/run last night and that did seem to track correctly.

Contacted Garmin via phone this morning and they are going to send an out of warranty replacement out once they receive my watch.
