955 Solar rebooting after installing 23.20

Yesterday I've received the latest fw23.20 and now when I try to check the morning report or even see the glances the watch reboots.

I had no issues with the beta 23.18...

Is there anyone else facing similar issue?

Update: went for a track run and the watch restarts everytime I tried to start my session. Not really what is expected from a "premium" brand such as Garmin...

  • Hey, I had some issues after the 23.20 update where all the sensors cut out, and basically Garmin told me the device is beyond repair, and that I can get a new 955 for around 200 eur since this one was out of warranty. Totally unacceptable. So after a lot of googleing I have found a solution that works for my problems (all the sensors are up and running now). Basically I downgraded to a previous firmware by copying it into the root folder and ran the update. Then updated again to the newest version, which seems to be working now. The most important step was to put the watch in the freezer before running the updates - it sounds ridiculous, and it is ridiculous but it works. I tried the same thing at room temperature first - no go. Then 10 mins in the freezer before each update - all is good.

Now, I didn't have the same issues that you have, but this is such a ridiculous fix that I wouldn't be surprised if it worked for you as well.

All in all, Garmin needs to step it up and release a new firmware.
