sleep mode button press backlight won’t turn on 22.24

previous firmware behavior (and what i believe to be proper behavior) is for the backlight to turn on when a key is pressed. in this firmware version it is not working. manually pressing the backlight button will activate it but it times out even when additional buttons are pressed. the backlight button is the only way to activate the backlight currently in sleep mode. i checked my display settings and it is set to Keys and Touch - ON.

  • I have 22.24 and this works for me. Is it possible that your settings got messed up (this has been known to happen after an update)?

Hold UP and select System > Sleep Mode > Backlight. In this menu there's a Keys & Touch setting, which can be On or Off. What value does that setting have for you?

For me, it's On, and it works as expected: if I use keys or touch while I'm in sleep mode, the backlight turns on. If I change the setting to Off, then it works the way you mentioned.

If your setting is On, try changing it to Off, exiting the menu, then going back to the menu and changing the setting back to On, in case that happens to fix it.

  • i tried it again toggling off, backing out and manually turning on sleep mode. turning off sleep mode and then toggling backlight in sleep mode back on. manually turning sleep mode on and using the buttons but it's still off. it only turns on when pressing the backlight button

i tried turning the watch off and on several times with the backlight enabled and disabled. it didn't restore the functionality
