How can I enable metronome sounds, but disable start/stop beeps

At some point the metronome stopped working. When I preview the metronome I can see that it is active but it is not audible.

When I go System -> Sound & Vibe -> Alert Tones and change from "off" to "during activity" the metronome starts to become audible. But so do start and stop sounds. I don't want start and stop beeps, I only want the metronome. No other sound, only metronome.

Can anyone help me with this?

It looks like Garmin made a change which ties metronome tones to alert tones, meaning that if you want to hear metronome tones, alert tones have to be enabled (as you found).

I checked an older watch (945 LTE), and it wasn't always this way (as you implied). You could disable alert tones and metronome tones would still be audible.

Based on what you're saying, it must have worked that way on FR955 as well, until a software update changed it.

Personally I think the old way is better, as it's more flexible.

Or you could post in the FR955 beta bug reports subforum, if you are indeed using beta firmware. (I wish there was an official forum for product bug reports and feature requests on non-beta firmware. We can post here, but Garmin isn't guaranteed to read it. We can talk to support, but then community isn't aware of it and can't give feedback.)
