How to recover the cpe.bin file

Hello

Following the problem of corrupted files blocking the watch at reset, I deleted the CPE.bin file in the "RemoteSW" directory.

The current problem is that despite several resets and synchronization with "Garmin connect mobile", the CPE.bin file has not been reloaded by Garmin.

Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve my problem ?

Thank you for your help

Laurent

  • Did you check the status? It should say current or missing.

    Settings » System » About » CPE

If current, you're done. If not, when syncing with Garmin Connect Mobile, it is not an instant restoration. Keep the app open for at least 10 minutes or more. Alternatively, sync using Garmin Express.

  • My watch's RemoteSW directory doesn't have a CPE.bin in it.

I believe it's safe to delete the contents of RemoteSW. The next synchronization (with phone, WiFi or Express) will restore it. Most of the time it should be empty. If you're on the beta program you may see a marker file in there for that.

You can even delete the entire folder. The folder will regenerate after unplugging the watch from the PC. Whatever the case, if the watch says, 'CPE Current,' there's no need to go any further.
